Caroline conducts and coaches many recorder ensembles and orchestras around the country. Described by The Recorder Magazine as, “inspirational”, she loves conducting Playing Days for the SRP and for independent groups such as Recorders Galore, Galliard Consort, U3A etc.
Caroline is particularly interested in the new repertoire for recorder orchestra. She is dedicated to bringing out the colours, nuances and character that make the recorder orchestra unique.
In 2010 she founded Arden Recorder Orchestra (ARO) for advanced and professional players. To listen to ARO please click here.
Caroline moved home to Wales in 2019. In 2024 she founded the new Wales Recorder Orchestra (WRO) that she jointly conducts with Lyndon Hilling.
Caroline is known for creating a warm, safe space that makes players of all levels confident to try out new instruments, experiment with new techniques, and try new musical genres.
